Chris, I have been asked by one of my electricians to buy threading dies made just for threading PVC coated conduit. Is there really a special die set up for coated conduit?
Answer
Replacement dies specifically for pvc coated is not required however the drop heads that hold the dies must be modified for PVC coated to allow for clearance of the PVC coating. The stationary guide of the existing drop head can be machined out approx. 12/100ths of an inch or the installer can purchase replacement drop heads from a company such as RIGID.
